Editra and python 2.7

hi
why editra EXE release comes with python 2.6, i've tried to build a special 2.7 but i got errors:

compile() expected string without null bytes

Because until recently some dependencies where still not available in 2.7. 2.6 is stable and there is no technical benefit to move to 2.7 at this time, though eventually it will.

If your developing Python code it is better to skip the binary install all together and run Editra using the Python installed on your system instead as you will get better integrated support and autocompletion will work for more of the packages you have custom installed on your system.

hi
i did the installation by simply using two files:
the source and the dependecy file from pypi, i copied files from source and pasted them to the egg (unrared)file and it worked, now i can use the latest release with an EXE file :mrgreen:

There are exe versions of the latest release available on this website.

What are you trying to do exactly? Just copying the py files into the already built exe will still result in it running on top of py2.6.

the EXE is for python 2.6 (the dll is the 2.6 one)
what i've done is making an exe with the 2.7 dll, till now, it worked :D
