Format Code correctly

Postby slogsnow » Sun Sep 08, 2013 5:19 pm

Hi all !

I think it would be great if there was an option to format the source code of several languages (like in Java, HTML, XML).

To be more specific, Eclipse IDE has the option "Source --> Format" and automatically formats the selected code in Java applying some standar rules.
In windows, Notepad++ does XML formatting using a plugin called "XML Tools" that gives you an option to tidy the XML code.

The idea would be to create the same option that formats correctly the code, following the coding standards of one language.

I think its better to have the option integrated in the core program of Editra (like in Eclipse), so thats why I have written all this here and not in the Plugin features requests.

Thanks to all the staff for their great job.

Yes that would be a great feature to have.

My time to work on Editra has become very sparse lately and I am pretty much only doing important bug fixes at the moment but would be happy to help anyone who wanted to work on a patch to implement this feature and the framework that would be needed to support it.
