import win32com.client

Postby Maki » Sat Dec 04, 2010 9:29 pm

Hello,
I have recently updated from version 0.5.60 to 0.5.86 the latest. I'm using macro launcher to send some text to another app using win32com.client but in the latest version importing win32com from pyshell console returns:

>>> import win32com.client
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<input>", line 1, in <module>
File "zipextimporter.pyo", line 82, in load_module
File "win32com\__init__.pyo", line 5, in <module>
File "zipextimporter.pyo", line 98, in load_module
ImportError: MemoryLoadLibrary failed loading win32api.pyd

I'm using Editra on WinXP machine.
Any workaround or help appreciated.
Best regards,
Maki.

Hi,

I would suggest trying to run Edtira from a source install instead of the binary version since you already seem to have python installed on your system. The binary version of Editra only has access to the libraries that are builtin to Editra and it may not have all of the win32api stuff bundled in.

Thank you Cody,
Installing from source solved the issue.
Best regards,
Maki.
