Postby jruv » Thu May 06, 2010 9:45 am

Hi Cody,
I don't remember this issue originated from which version. My current version is 0.5.51. When the other program modified the file which is editing by Editra. Editra doesn't popup message to notify the user. If I save the file, the modification by other program is lost.
any idea about this issue? Thanks!

Hi,

I cannot reproduce this behavior. Here is what I did to test

1) Open Editra
2) Open test.txt in Editra
3) Open Notepad
4) Open test.txt in Notepad
5) Modify test.txt in Notepad and Save it
6) Go back to the Editra window
7) As soon after I clicked on the Editra window a popup warning about the file having been modified is shown

Did you do anything different to see this happen?

I deleted and reinstalled the Editra, now it works fine. Thank you!

It's weird. My source file has the CVS reserved key word, such as $Log$, $Revision$. When I do CVS commit, CVS will update the reserved keyword into the real content. But at that time, the Editra will not notify the file changing.
But when I modify the same file with notepad, it works okay.

My CVS client is TortoiseCVS on Windows XP.

Hi,

I can't reproduce this on any of my systems.

The notification will only occur when the tab with the modified file is the active tab.

Also there are two optional features in the preference dialog under General/Files that you should check.

1) Check if on disk file has been modified by others (should be enabled to be able to get notifictations)

2) Automatically reload files when changes are detected on disk. (If this and 1 are checked the file will automatically reload with no notification.
